Contract Respiratory Therapist – Alexandria, VA Location: Alexandria, Virginia Schedule: Contract Assignment Experience Required: 2+ years Credentials: Active Respiratory Therapist Certification and/or License Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our clinical team in Alexandria, VA. This contract role is ideal for a clinician who delivers high‑quality respiratory care, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and maintains strong clinical judgment and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer therapeutic treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator management Monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans as needed Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely and effectively Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions and therapies Required Qualifications 2+ years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience Active Respiratory Therapist Certification and/or State License (CRT, RRT, or state‑specific licensure) Strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and emergency response Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient‑care skills Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Preferred Qualifications Experience in acute care, critical care, or emergency settings Familiarity with EMR systems About the Contract Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling based on facility needs Opportunity to support a respected healthcare organization in the Alexandria region
